Everyone Welcome - Have a great time!

  • We aim to provide an inclusive environment for recreational sport and active living for everyone that joins and play in our leagues.
  • We want to provide a positive space for socialzing through sport. 
  • We are an adult sports league that takes our sport culture and FUN very seriously.
  • Everyone is welcome!

 

Registration 

  • McMaster Community Sports Leagues are open to all adults (Ages 18+) that want to play recreational sports! 
  • What are the steps for Team or Free Agent Registration?
    • Team Registration - Get your friends together and organize a team to play every week!
    • Free Agent Registration - We will have a team created for all the Free Agents in each league to join. It is meant to get people of similar social and active living interests togther to play on the same team! 
    • All MCSL Leagues have team and free agent registration.

 

MCSL IMLeagues 

  •  How to Register a team? 
    • Once you create your team you can either invite teammates to join the team from the IMLeagues Team Page. 
    • All Members of the team must be registered on IMLeagues to be able to join the team. 
  • How to Register? 
    • Please see our team and participant guide to registration as a team or as a free agent.
  • When does my team's roster need to be completed by for all players to be eligible to be on the team?
    • All players must be added to the team roster by the 4th week of the season to be eligible to be on the team and compete in the playoffs.
  • Where do I see my schedule on IMLeagues?
    • When you login to your IMLeagues account it takes you to your home page and then you are able to go to your Team Page from there.
    • At the top of the League page, there are tabs for Teams, Schedules, Standings and Free Agents. You can access the full league schedule on this page.
    • You can also access the team schedule from your Team Page, it will give you your teams schedule for the entire regular season. 
    • Playoff brackets will be published at least 48 hours before the team's playoff game.

 

Game Play

  •  Where do I see my schedule on IMLeagues? 
    • All MCSL leagues are recreational. Please see our Levels of Play for a full breakdown of what that means.
  • Are MCSL games officiated?
    • All MCSL games are self officiated. Please see our Leagues Policies for a full breakdown of what that means.
  • Where are my games played?
    • All MCSL games are played at McMaster Sport Hall Gymnasium. For directions, please see the Game Locations map at the bottom of this page.
  • What colour shirt should my team wear to a game?
    • This depends on whether you are the home or away team. Please see our Team & Captain Responsibilities in our League Policies for a full breakdown.
    • HOME Team - Dark Shirts & AWAY Team - Light Shirt
    • Please remember GREY is not a colour!
  • How do I appeal the result of my game? 

  • What is the Spirit of Competition (SOC) Rating?

    • Each captain is responsible for giving the other team a SOC Rating (1-5) at the end of every game.
    • Please see our Team & Captain Responsibilities in our League Policies for a full breakdown.
    • MSCL Conveners are able to modify these grades at their discretion.
  • Can my teammate play if their name does not appear on the gamesheet?

    • All players must be added to the team roster by the 4th week of the season to be eligible to be on the team and compete in the playoffs.
    • If they are not on the roster at a game before the 4th week of the season, they can write their name on the game sheet to verify that they played the game.
  • How many games do I have to play to be eligible for Playoffs?

    • To be eligible for the playoff season, all players must be registered on the team and have participated in at least 4 games (throughout the season) with their team.

  • Are there games on Spring/Summer long weekends? 

    • No games happen on weekends in the MCSL. There are breaks in the seasons around long weekends. 
  • Can I reschedule my game?

    • Games will not be rescheduled once the regular season schedule is released.
    • Each league has a "Make-Up" day built into the league schedule; teams can move a game to this day once they provide at least one week's notice.

  • What are the rules of my sport?

    • Each sport has a governing set of rules that can be found on our Website (in each sport) and in the Handbooks and Manuals Section of IMLeagues.com/MCSL
  • What happens if we win our league?

    • You will be crowned League Champs and win some sweet Nike MCSL Marauder T-shirts for your team!
