Dr. David Levy
Dr. Levy is a graduate of McMaster University where he is an Associate Clinical Professor in the Department of Family Medicine with a cross appointment in the Department of Medicine (Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation). In his practice, the first primary care sport medicine clinic in southern Ontario established in1983, Dr. Levy has been looking after athletes of all ages and talent levels for many years.
Dr. Levy has been the team physician to the Hamilton Tiger Cats Football Club for 35 years and has been the medical director of the Toronto Rock Professional Lacrosse team since its inception. He has been a physician to McMaster University and Mohawk College Varsity sports teams and clinics for over 30 years. He is also on the medical staff of the Hamilton Bulldogs AHL hockey team and the team physician to Hamilton’s Breast Cancer Dragonboat team, Knot A Breast, for the past 12 years.
Dr. Levy has been a chair of the OMA Section on Sport Medicine and has been on the Board of Directors of the Canadian Academy of Sport Medicine, is on the Board of Directors of the Hamilton Sport and Musculoskeletal Phyisicans Group and is the chair of the Program Advisory Committee for the Sheridan College Athletic Therapy program. Dr. Levy is heavily involved in the education of medical students, and of residents in Family Medicine, Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and Emergency Medicine and he started and is the Co-Director of McMaster’s Primary Care Sport Medicine Fellowship Program
Dr. Eric Koelink

Dr. Koelink is an assistant clinical professor in the Pediatric Emergency Department at McMaster Children’s Hospital.
After receiving his medical degree from Flinders University in Adelaide, Australia, Dr. Koelink completed his residency and pediatric emergency medicine fellowship training at Sick Kids Hospital in Toronto. He received his Diploma in Sport Medicine from the Canadian Academy of Sport and Exercise Medicine after a fellowship in both adult and pediatric sports medicine at Western University in London, Ontario.
Dr. Koelink maintains a practice in sports medicine where he sees a wide range of patients including those diagnosed with concussions. His research interests are focused on musculoskeletal medicine including a recent publication on common pediatric fractures.
Dr. Koedlink worked as part of the medical team covering the Pan Am Games in Toronto.
Dr. Devin Peterson
Dr. Peterson is a consultant Orthopaedic surgeon at the David Braley Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation Centre.
Dr. Peterson completed medical school and Orthopaedic Surgical training at Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia. He followed this training with an additional two years of subspecialty training in Orthopaedic Sports Medicine and Paediatric Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of Western Ontario. He spent additional time at the University of Toronto adding to his expertise in Paediatric Orthopaedic Surgery.
Dr. Peterson is an Associate Professor in the Department of Surgery at McMaster University and is on active staff at the Hamilton Health Sciences Centre. Dr. Peterson has served as the OMA Section Chair in Sports Medicine.
Currently, he is the Co-Team Physician for the McMaster University Football Team and has treated professional players with the Hamilton Bulldogs Hockey Team (AHL), Toronto Rock Lacrosse (NLL) and Tiger-Cats Football Club (CFL).
His clinical and research interests include Paediatric Orthopaedics andadult and pediatric sports medicine with a special interest in arthroscopic surgery of the knee.
Dr. Femi Ayeni
Olufemi R. Ayeni MD is an Associate Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at McMaster University.
Dr Ayeni completed his Orthopaedic Surgery residency training at McMaster University. Following this, he completed 2 years of additional Sports Medicine Fellowship Training, first at the University of Ottawa/Carleton Sports Medicine Clinic (Sports Medicine and Knee Surgery) under the direction of Donald H. Johnson MD and then at the Hospital for Special Surgery/Weill Cornell Medical Center, New York (Sports Medicine and Shoulder Surgery). While in New York, Dr Ayeni was the Assistant Team Physician for the New Jersey Nets (NBA) and Iona College (NCAA). Also, in New York, he received dedicated training in Hip Arthroscopy under the direction of Bryan T. Kelly MD. In his first year of practice, Dr Ayeni spent a month in Europe as a Visiting Fellow in Hip Preservation and Hip Arthroscopic Surgery at the Schulthess Clinic in Zurich, Switzerland and at Orthopadische Chirurgie Munchen in Munich, Germany.
Dr Ayeni’s clinical practice focuses on athletic injuries and non arthritic conditions of the hip, knee and shoulder in adolescents and adults. His research focus is on Outcomes Research in Sports Medicine and Arthroscopic Surgery.
Dr. Vikram Venkateswaran
Dr. Vikram Venkateswaran is an Assistant Clinical Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at McMaster University. He currently practices in Georgetown, Ontario which is part of Halton Healthcare Services (Oakville, Milton, Georgetown).
He completed his B.PHE and B.Sc degrees at Queen’s University followed by Medical School and Orthopaedic Surgery Residency training at McMaster University. He then completed a fellowship in Sports Medicine Orthopaedic Surgery at the American Sports Medicine Institute (ASMI) in Birmingham, Alabama, USA under the guidance of Dr. James R. Andrews. While in Alabama, he helped care for many high school, collegiate, and professional athletes. Specifically, he assisted with the care of Auburn University (NCAA), Tuskegee University (NCAA), the Birmingham Barons (Minor League Baseball), and the Washington Redskins (NFL).
Currently, he is an Orthopaedic Surgeon for the Hamilton Tiger Cats Football Team (CFL) and the Toronto Rock Lacrosse Team (NLL). He was also a medical volunteer during the 2015 Pan American Games in Toronto. His clinical interests include the arthroscopic treatment of sports injuries of the shoulder, elbow, and knee.
Meg Chiavaras
Dr. Chiavaras, MD, PhD is a musculoskeletal radiologist at the Hamilton General Hospital and Associate professor of radiology at McMaster University. She has a strong subspecialty interest in musculoskeletal ultrasound and the diagnosis and treatment of sports-related injuries. She performs multiple minimally invasive, ultrasound-guided interventional procedures to treat tendon, ligament, muscle, and nerve pathology. She teaches at multiple national and international courses and conferences and is actively engaged in research. She is currently the principle investigator for the IMPROVE trial, a multicentre, multidisciplinary, international randomized control trial comparing various ultrasound-guided percutaneous treatments for lateral epicondylitis ("tennis elbow").
Dr. Chiavaras holds degrees in General Science and Psychology from Pennsylvania State University, PhD in Neurology and Neurosurgery from McGill University and an MD from the University of Massachusetts. She completed her Clinical Fellowship in Musculoskeletal Radiology at McMaster University.

Susan has been a part of the Sport Medicine team at McMaster since 1999.
She graduated from Wilfrid Laurier University in 1992 with an honors Arts degree in German and Physical Education minor. She completed a MA degree in German at McMaster University in 1993 and went on to complete her BSc in Physiotherapy in the School of Rehabilitation McMaster University (1995).
Susan’s clinical experience focuses on orthopedic and sports physiotherapy and she holds her certificate in Sport from Sport Physiotherapy Canada. She is an Assistant Clinic Professor (adjunct) of the McMaster School of Rehabilitation Science acting as a clinical preceptor and guest lecturer. In 2005 Susan received the Gold Merit Award for the education and supervision of physiotherapy students.
Susan’s other responsibilities include the role of clinical education coordinator overseeing the organization and supervision physiotherapy and co-operative education students on clinical placements.
Colin Oczkowski
Colin was born and raised in Hamilton and attended Westdale Secondary School and McMaster Sport Fitness School as a child. He has a passion for his community.
Colin received his undergraduate degree in Arts and Sciences with honours, majoring in Biology and Sociology from the University of Guelph. Colin then worked in rehabilitation research at the Population Health Research Institute in Hamilton for two years prior to completing his Doctorate in Physical Therapy in the United States in 2013. He is a licensed physiotherapist in Canada, the USA, is a certified strength and conditioning specialist and is certified in anatomical acupuncture.
Colin loves working with athletes of all ages and sporting pursuits. He also competes in middle distance running, triathlons and plays and coaches basketball.
Dr. Ralph Sciullo

Dr. Ralph Sciullo utilizes a multi-modal approach to health care combining chiropractic, acupuncture, Active Release soft-tissue therapy (ART) and exercise. This approach, combined with over 25 years of practical experience, has made Dr. Ralph a sought after health-care practitioner.
A graduate of McMaster University (BSc 1985) and Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College (1989), Ralph is also certified to provide Active Release soft tissue technique (ART) and completed the McMaster University Medical Acupuncture program in 2000. He is also a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) with the National Strength and Conditioning Association.
Ralph is the Team Chiropractor for both the Hamilton Bulldogs Hockey Club (CHL and AHL) and Hamilton Tiger Cats Football Team. This has allowed the opportunity to work with athletes at all levels, from the young to the elite.

Dave has been a member of the Sport Medicine Team at McMaster University for the past 20 years. He opened his own clinic, Balance Osteopathic and Rehabilitation Centre, in Waterdown in 2010.
In addition to his Clinical practice, Dave has also been the Head Athletic Therapist for the former Ontario Raiders and current Toronto Rock Professional Lacrosse Teams, competing in the National Lacrosse League. Dave’s lacrosse experience has extended to the international level, where he was a member of the Sports Medicine Teams for Team Canada at the 2002 and 2006 Men’s World Field Lacrosse Championships and the 2003 Men’s World Indoor Lacrosse Championship.
Phil Hendriks
Phil Hendriks graduated from Sutherland-Chan School of Massage Therapy as a Registered Massage Therapist (RMT) in Toronto, in 1998. After working as both a RMT and a Personal Trainer at The Good Life Fitness Club in Toronto, in 2001 he moved to Perth Australia where he worked at the Subiaco Sports Massage clinic, seeing clients from the Australian National Swim Team, the Western Australian Ballet, the Australian National Cricket Team as well as servicing general public clients. During his time in Australia, Phil also worked at the Bodywise Physiotherapy Clinic; a multidisciplinary sports and women’s health clinic that included Pilates focused treatment. Here, Phil received accreditation in Clinical Pilates as a method of corrective exercise.
In 2006, Phil moved to Auckland New Zealand, where he continued his RMT work at the Elementa Natural Health and Wellness Centre; a natural health clinic with a focus on yoga. In Auckland he also managed a busy home clinic.. With experience gained from both Auckland and Perth, Phil’s interests expanded to include to the use of yoga combined with massage therapy in the prevention of injury and in reducing chronic pain, as well as using boxing as a form of strengthening and conditioning.
Phil returned to Canada in 2012, where he continues to practice from his home, as well as engaging in coaching and RMT services with the Varsity Swim team at McMaster University. Here his practice holds a strong focus on posture correction for the purpose of reducing injury. After nearly four successful years working as part of the McMaster Varsity Swim team, Phil accepted a RMT position at the David Braley Sports Medicine Clinic where he continues to provide massage services to the greater community of McMaster.
Gloria Kiefer-Preston
An experienced physiotherapist of 28 years, Gloria completed her BSc in Physiotherapy at the University of Toronto in 1991. At that time, she competed in varsity soccer and track & field. Gloria completed the first Canadian Sport Physiotherapy Fellowship at the Fowler Kennedy Sport Medicine Clinic at the University of Western Ontario in 1994. During that time she also obtained her Sport Certificate from Sport Physiotherapy Canada.
She has served as the Chief Physiotherapist at the 2003 World Road Cycling Championships, 2001 Canada Summer Games (Field Hockey), and the London Marathon. She has also been a member of medical teams including Skate Canada, Commonwealth Rowing Championships, Team Canada Volleyball, Ontario Summer Games, Junior B and AAA Hockey.
She has completed post-graduate courses in advanced manual therapy, exercise, myofascial release and medical acupuncture. She has extensive experience treating sport and orthopedic injuries in recreational, elite and professional athletes.
Gloria has two scientific publications in peer reviewed journals regarding knee proprioception, and is also a professional associate and adjunct lecturer at the McMaster School of Rehabilitation Science.
Gloria is currently manager of the clinic.

Matthew Moreland
Born in New Brunswick, Matthew has had a long and varied career. He was a interictal part of the early years in the development of Ticketmaster in Ontario, oversaw all ticketing for Live Ent worldwide, then came to Hamilton and worked with the Hamilton Tiger Cats for seven years overseeing all aspects of their ticketing and customer service department. He moved on to the Front of House Manager at the AGO in Toronto.
His vast experience in sports, customer service, and organizational skills brought him to McMaster. Working with the varsity athletes, doctors, and therapists, Matthew helps smooth the way for students and doctors to utilize the insurance properly to ensure their full recovery from injuries

Chris his time between managing and supervising the Varsity Athletic Clinic, supervising Student Field Therapists and serving as Head Therapist with the Varsity Men's Football team.
Chris worked in the Canadian Football League for seventeen years: three years as the Assistant Athletic Therapist with the Toronto Argonauts (1994-1996) and fourteen as Head Athletic Therapist with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats (1997-2010).
Chris has been a part of three National Championship teams: the Grey Cup winning 1996 Toronto Argonauts, the 1999 Hamilton Tiger-Cats and the 2012 Vanier Cup Champion McMaster Marauders.
Chris’ education/designations include: an Honours Degree, Physical and Health Education (1993) from Laurentian University; Diploma in Sports Injury Management from Sheridan College (1996), Membership into the Canadian Athletic Therapy Association (1996), Diploma in Acupuncture from the Centre of International Holistic Studies (1998) and his Doctorate in Acupuncture, World Health Organization (1998); Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist designation through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (2004), Diploma in Massage Therapy from the Ontario College of Health and Technology (2010).
As well as being a Sports First Responder, Chris has also completed courses in Selective Functional Movement Assessment, Strain Counter-strain, Functional Myofascial Release, Myofascial Stretching, Articular Pumping, Muscle Energy and Soft Tissue Release.
From 2000 to 2004 Chris instructed at Sheridan College in both Manual Therapy Techniques and Protective Equipment. Chris continues to be a guest lecturer for many area Sports Organizations and Educational Institutions.
Chris is proud to follow both his father Frank (Geology) and his mother Toni (Dean's office) to McMaster University.
Chris resides in Hamilton, Ont. with his wife Crystal, and sons Noah, Benjamin and Joshua.
Carly Vandergrient
Carly Vandergrient R.Kin, CAT(C), RMT, M.Sc
Carly brings a wealth of experience from both University and Professional Sport to McMaster Varsity Athletics. She provides the high quality support that our student athletes, coaches and programs expect, working primarily with the Varsity Court and Individual Sports in Ivor Wynne Centre; Volleyball, Basketball, Wrestling, Swimming, and Cross Country.
Prior to making her return to McMaster Athletics in 2016, Carly spent seven years working with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats Football Club of the CFL. For five years (2011-2016), Carly served as the Head Athletic Therapist for the Ticats, where she was responsible for all aspects of the team's sport medicine needs, including emergency care, acute injury management, injury and post-operative rehabilitation, exercise prescription, insurance billing coordination, management of annual medical budget and inventory of supplies. Additionally, she was the liaison between General Manager, coaches, team physicians, allied health care practitioners, equipment and strength and conditioning staff. In Carly's five years as Head Therapist with the Tiger-Cats, she helped the team reach the Grey Cup on two occasions, in 2013 and 2014.
Carly is no stranger to McMaster University where she received her Honours Bachelor of Kinesiology in 2007 and Masters in Rehabilitation Sciences in 2016. As an undergraduate student, Carly was an active member of the McMaster Sport Medicine program and served as a Student Field Therapist with the Marauders Baseball, Volleyball and Wrestling teams. Following graduation, Carly worked in the David Braley Sport Medicine and Rehabilitation Centre where her responsibilities included the creation and implementation of hydrotherapy programs, custom and OTS brace fitting, and co-ordinating of Student Field Therapists.
Carly went on to Sheridan College to complete a Bachelor of Applied Health Sciences degree in Athletic Therapy in 2011, Ontario College of Health and Technology for a diploma in Massage Therapy Certification in 2018 and most recently, completed the both the Contemporary Medical Acupuncture and Neurofunctional Sport Performance Acupuncture Courses at McMaster University in 2019.
Brandon Broijer
Brandon first came to McMaster for his undergraduate education, where he earned a Bachelor’s of Science in Kinesiology in 2015. During this time, he worked with the Varsity Soccer and Swim teams as a field therapist. Brandon then went on to complete his Masters of Science in Physiotherapy, graduating once again from McMaster in 2017.
Brandon’s clinical approach is founded in exercise-based therapy, with interests in manual therapy and acupuncture as adjunctive care modalities. Brandon has earned his level I manual therapy certification, introductory acupuncture, and is a certified First Responder by Sport Physiotherapy Canada. He is pursuing continuing education in advanced manual therapy levels, concussion management, and vestibular rehab. Brandon believes in creating a partnership with his patients, facilitating them to take an active role in their healthcare and rehabilitation. He welcomes working with athletes and clients of all abilities, and greatly appreciates the athletic atmosphere that McMaster has to offer. In his spare time, Brandon lives an active lifestyle as a runner, cyclist, while also playing basketball and soccer.
Kevin D Angelo
Dr. Kevin D'Angelo was born and raised in Hamilton and graduated from McMaster University with an Honours Bachelor Degree of Science in Kinesiology. He continued his studies at the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College (CMCC) where he graduated with Summa Cum Laude and Clinic Honours. In pursuit of specializing in sports medicine, Dr. D'Angelo went on to obtain his Sport Sciences Fellowship from the Royal College of Chiropractic Sports Sciences (Canada) through an intensive two-year, full-time, post-graduate residency program at CMCC.
In addition to his formal training, he has obtained certifications in Active Release Techniques (ART)©, Contemporary Medical Acupuncture (McMaster University) and is a current emergency first responder. Dr. D’Angelo is also an Internationally Certified Chiropractic Sports Practitioner (ICCSP) through the International Federation of Sports Chiropractic.
Dr. D'Angelo has worked with amateur, national and professional athletes across a variety of sport settings including hockey, lacrosse, football, soccer, dance, mixed martial arts, cycling and running. He has traveled internationally as part of the integrated sports team (IST) for the Canadian Taekwondo Team and has served as lead therapist for the North York Rangers Jr. A (OJHL) hockey team and York Region Shooters (CSL) professional men’s soccer team. He has also participated on several host medical teams, including the recent Toronto Pan Am Games & Parapan Am Games and Invictus Games.
Outside of the clinical environment, Dr. D’Angelo has been involved in teaching and research. He has taught anatomy, clinical diagnosis and orthopaedics at the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College and continues to be active in producing healthcare research and acting as a peer reviewer for academic journals. He has been a contributing author to the recent systematic reviews and guidelines published by the Ontario Protocol for Traffic Injury Management (OPTIMa) Collaboration and was involved in the Basic Sciences Arm for the SafetyNET Research Grant (CARE Program) through the University of Alberta. Dr. D’Angelo feels strongly about integrating the industry’s best research-driven practices with his clinical training to deliver a patient-centred approach to every individual case.
Dr. Darren de SA
Dr. de SA is an orthopaedic surgeon from Hamilton, Ontario whose clinical scope includes adult and paediatric sports medicine, arthroscopic surgery, and trauma. He has a special interest in complex knee reconsruction. He completed both his medical and orthopaedic surgical residency training at McMaster University- and recently completed his Sports Medicine and Arthroscopy Fellowship under the mentorship of Drs. Freddie H. Fu and Volker Musahi at the University of Pittsburgh. In this latter role, he acquired extensive experience as Assistant Team Physician for the Pittsburgh Penguins (NHL) and worked collaboratively with the medical teams for the Pittsburgh Steelers (NFL) and the University of Pittsburgh collegiate athletics.He is concurrently pursuing young adolescent and paediatric trauma subspecialty training at Western University in London, Ontario.
Darren has contributed to a productive research program focused on outcomes research in athletic injuries and non-arthritic conditions of the knee, shoulder and hip, publishing over 70 peer-reviewed manuscripts, numerous book chapters, and delivering podium and poster presentations on the national and international stage. Most recently, he served as Assistant Editor for the joint JISAKOS/ESSKA, and is a manuscript reviewer for KSSTA and Arthroscopy.
Dr. de SA has a passion for medical education and has been recognized at the institutional and national level for his contributions in this realm. He is an active member of the Canadian Orthopaedic Association and Arthroscopy Association of Canada.
Jillian Goodwin
Jillian completed her Masters in Physiotherapy from the University of Toronto in 2011. Prior to this, she attended the University of Western Ontario where she received an Honors Bachelor of Arts in Kinesiology with a Minor in Rehabilitation Sciences. During this time, she acted as the student therapist for the UWO varsity men’s rugby team.
Since graduating, Jillian has completed courses in Kinesio taping and is currently pursuing her manual and manipulative therapy levels. Jillian has completed training in Acupuncture and Dry Needling for sport injury management. Jillian is also a Shift Concussion Trained Provider. She is a member of the Orthopaedic division of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association. Jillian enjoys an active lifestyle that includes running, weight lifting and playing competitive beach and court volleyball.
Dr. Waleed Kishta
Dr. Kishta is an orthopaedic surgeon at McMaster Children’s Hospital who specializes in paediatric foot and ankle conditions. His research interests include paediatric foot, ankle and spine deformities, bone growth, osteogenesis imperfect, medical teaching and simulation.
While completing his residency in orthopaedic surgery in Egypt, Dr. Kishta also obtained his master’s degree and PhD in Perthes Disease. He pursued further residency training in Halifax, Nova Scotia, followed by fellowships in paediatric orthopaedics at Dalhousie University, spine surgery at McGill University, and orthopaedic trauma/foot and ankle surgery at Schulich Medicine & Dentistry, Western University.
Dr. Kishta received his FRCSC designation in orthopaedic surgery in August 2014. He served as a consultant paediatric orthopaedic surgeon at Manitoba University, receiving the Teacher of the Year in Orthopaedic Surgery award for the 2015-16 academic year
Drew Korzeniowski
Drew Korzeniowski is a Canadian Certified Pedorthist who has been working in Hamilton and the surrounding area for the past ten years. He successfully graduated with an Honours Bachelor of Science Degree in Human Kinetics from Guelph University and went on to become a Canadian Certified Pedorthist. He is a member of the Pedorthic Association of Canada and the College of Pedorthics of Canada.
Drew is the owner and operator of DK Orthotic Solutions (DKOS). DKOS is a sports pedorthic company whose focus is to provide orthotic treatment for those with foot and lower limb injuries. DKOS specializes in seeing the athletic and sporting population, however, also sees people from all walks of life, including those with diabetes, the elderly, and those with congenital conditions resulting in gait abnormalities.
DKOS uses a wide range of cutting edge technologies and materials, along with Drew’s background and experience to help clients improve their athletic performance and/or physical well being.
Drew uses a variety of treatment options for his patients, including: custom and non-custom orthotics, custom and over-the-counter foot and ankle bracing, footwear fittings, modifications and education to name a few.
Drew is an associate Pedorthist for the Hamilton Tiger-Cats of the CFL and works with numerous athletes and sporting organizations in the surrounding area.
In his spare time, Drew is an avid runner, triathlete and adventure racer. He also enjoys mountain biking, camping, hiking and competing competitively and noncompetitively in a wide range of sports
Teresa Lohonyai
Teresa is a graduate of the Massage Therapy program at Ontario College of Health and Technology. Having an interest in sports her whole life, Teresa took an interest in body movement and function at a young age, participating in sports and activities such as track and field, rugby, baseball, field hockey, weightlifting, and yoga. Teresa has always been passionate about maintaining an active lifestyle so she decided to pursue a career in which she could help others do the same. After graduating from the University of Windsor with an Honours Movement Science Bachelor Degree of Human Kinetics, Teresa sought out massage therapy as her outlet for this passion. In addition to becoming a Registered Massage Therapist, Teresa has also received certification in Kinesio Taping. Teresa’s approach to treatment is unique as she combines various techniques and modalities within the scope of massage therapy to rehabilitate her patients.
Teresa is passionate about helping individuals to reach their rehabilitation goals, working with clients to achieve anything from general wellness, maintenance and relaxation to specific work, sport, or functional injury rehabilitation. She believes whole-heartedly in the motto "movement is medicine,” so outside the clinic environment you can find Teresa at the gym, running races within the GTA, or out hiking with friends.

Eugene Maida MD, is a Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation consultant with a special interest in interventional pain and sports medicine. Prior to initiating residency, he completed a sports medicine research fellowship at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester Minnesota, under Dr. Jay Smith, with a focus on Ultrasound Guided Musculoskeletal and Peripheral Nerve Diagnostics and Interventions. He then completed his residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at McMaster University in 2018 and his Diploma in Sports & Exercise Medicine through the Canadian Academy of Sports & Exercise Medicine (CASEM) in 2016. He is currently completing subspecialty training in Pain Medicine under the Department of Anesthesia at McMaster University.
Dr. Maida has worked with the McMaster University varsity soccer and football teams, Canadian Junior National Basketball Team (NEDA) and is currently a team physician with the Hamilton Tiger Cats (CFL).
His research focus includes evidence-based spine interventions in addition to the role of ultrasound in musculoskeletal and neuromuscular medicine.
Kerry Pavlovic
Kerry grew up in Leamington, Ontario. She moved to Hamilton to pursue her Bachelor Degree in Kinesiology from McMaster University. Upon graduation, she went on to complete her Bachelor of Applied Health Sciences (Athletic Therapy) from Sheridan College. She became a Certified Athletic Therapist in 2013 and a Registered Kinesiologist in 2016.
Kerry has worked in multidisciplinary rehabilitation clinics with extensive experience in custom, off the shelf bracing and compression therapy.
Kerry has spent the past few years working with the Six Nations Arrows Jr A lacrosse team. She was also fortunate to work with multiple other Senior and varsity lacrosse, volleyball, football and hockey teams. Locally, she has been the therapist alongside high school football, rugby, hockey and basketball teams. Her teams have been successful enough to travel around the country competing in and winning several national championships.
In her spare time, Kerry enjoys being outdoors camping, hiking and fishing. Her love of sports is what drove her to becoming an Athletic Therapist, where growing up she was a competitive figure skater, softball and basketball player.
Brittany Raftis
Brittany completed her Master of Science in Foods and Nutrition from Western University in 2014. Before this, she attended Western University where she received an Honors Bachelor of Science in Foods and Nutrition and a Bachelor of Arts, Psychology major. Brittany works as a nutrition consultant for a variety of organizations including the Canadian Sport Institute of Ontario and has provided nutrition and food education to a wide range of individuals and groups including both recreational and elite athletes.
Brittany is passionate about supporting athletes to reach their goals through individual coaching and group workshops. Brittany uses a food-first approach to nutrition to help individuals implement practical and sustainable changes to support sports performance and long term health.
