McMaster Department of Athletics & Recreation Camps: March Break & Summer
Camper Scholarship Program
Camp is an amazing, life-changing experience. Campers discover friendship, fun and learning together. They connect with positive role models and build self-esteem in a community spirit of "try" and "I can." They develop perspective, habits and confidence that stays with them every day.
Each camp season, we work wtih our community partners to ensure camp - and all it stands for - is shared with children and families in our community who couldn't otherwise afford it. Campers attending on scholarship receive full or partial scholarships to attend the camp of their choice. While we work on running great camps, our partners - Big Brothers Big Sisters,Kiwanis Boys & Girls Clubs, Children's Aid Society, City Kidz,Eva Rothwell Resource Centre, Wesley Urban Ministries and more - determine financial need and allocate scholarships. The program has historically been funded from within McMaster, by donors, and camp families. With your help, we can do more.
As families who attend our camps, you've made it clear: You believe in the value of camp. It may not be in your family's budget to sponsor an entire campership, but many small contributions willmake a big difference. Since 2012, we've been excited to let our camp families 'share the gift of camp' during their registration, $5 - or more! - at a time.
