ALTITUDE incorporates a variety of activities in our programmings, which based on availability can be included in your program
Climbing
McMaster contains both an indoor and outdoor climbing facility, each sure to challenge the user and offer an unforgettable experience.

Our Alpine Tower is located on-site outdoors and measure 50 ft. in height. The tower is universal accessibility, with four points of access and over 40 routes to the top.

The Feather Family Climbing Wall is 30 feet wide and 36 feet high, and offers members an opportunity to reach new heights in fitness. The climbing wall caters to all skill levels, with a variety of routes to offer different levels of difficulty for beginners and experts alike.
Low Ropes Activities
A variety of elements below the tower provide excellent group dynamics and leadership development opportunities. Ranging from group balance beams to obstacle courses these can be utilized as part of a larger full day program in conjunction with the tower or wall, or can be used on their own for a team development workshop.

Group Initiatives
ALTITUDE strives to develop leadership and promote team dynamics through outdoor education. Our toolbox of initiatives encourages groups to work as a team and achieve a variety of challanging goals. Group Initiatives can be run as an independent program where corporate groups, schools and sports teams can come in to develop teamwork through on the groud initiatives, or can be combined with a tower, wall, or low ropes elements program.

Bonfire
A great way to end the day of ALTITUDE programming or bring your group out for some social time
- Bonfire session can be included into an Altitude Team Building and/ or climbing program OR run as an individual program in the evenings
- Bonfires are staffed at all times who have the fire going before our group arrives
- Participant must bring food, refreshments and campfire songs and stories. *Alcohol is not permitted
- ALTITUDE has all necessary Hamilton Fire department Bonfire permits
- Flat rate $120.00 + HST – 2-3 hrs – groups up to 40 people
- Flat rate $160 + HST – 2-3 hrs - groups over 40 people
- Bonfires can only be booked until 11pm

Hiking
McMaster University is fortunate to be surrounded by nature (http://www.mcmaster.ca/nature/) We also work with various groups from the Royal Botanical Gardens (RBG), the Hamilton Conservation Authority (HCA), to our very own Biology Department to provide relevant and informative hikes to groups.
- Embark on a hike to promote personal growth and leadership through the experiential outdoor education and recreation
- McMaster offers a diversity of outdoor hiking areas which encourage the development of a heightened eco-concious.
Hikes can either be casual additions to ALTITUDE programs like a tower climb or group initiatives, or be focused programs occuring either here at McMaster, at the RBG, HCA or at McMaster Forest.

Kayaking
Groups can learn some great outdoor skills .. indoors .. at our pool. Bring out your group to learn some basic Kayak skills, how to roll, and play some Kayak polo
- Kayak sessions can be run independently or combined with many of other programs
- Kayak sessions are typically 1.5 hours long.
- please note that Kayak programs have limited availability based on pool schedules. Please contact us for more information.
Canoeing
Outdoor Recreation offers a variety of day and multi-day/overnight canoe trips that cater well to the needs of the groups and participants. Click on the different programs offered below to learn more.
