Hi Class of 2024!

Welcome to McMaster University! We are excited to meet you and support your transition from High School to University. Thank you for your interest in joining the McMaster Virtual Outdoor Orientation Program! Please fill out this registration form to sign up for the program! It is completely FREE! Your application is just a way for us to get to know you! 

What is  the McMaster Virtual Outdoor Orientation Program you may ask? We are one of the many awesome Welcome Week programs offered at McMaster. We specialize in Outdoor Experiences and connecting first year students with upper year mentors through fun faculty based mentorship programming. We want to help you transition to McMaster in a supportive community of people who enjoy nature, the outdoors, mentorship, leadership, and team building.

Who is able to join? Incoming first year students with an interest in nature and the outdoors. No outdoor experience is necessary to join! We are beginner friendly and welcoming to all skills and abilities. 

Where will it be held? This year the program will be held online using various free online platforms such as Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Flipgrid, Netflix Party, and iNaturalist. 

When is it? The program will run from August 8th-August 30th, 2020. Programming will be run at various times throughout the week and it is not mandatory to attend all sessions. 

Why should YOU join? You will get to meet other first year and upper year students who have an interest in the outdoors and nature. You will get to be a part of many events activities, and challenges. You will build lasting connections with others! 

Fun Fact! This program is one of the few Outdoor Orientation University Programs in CANADA! There are many similar programs in the States and McMaster's Outdoor Orientation Program has ranked among the highest across both countries in helping facilitate successful transitions to University and building meaningful connections with others.
