Joan Buddle Service Desk Customer Service Representative

The Customer Service Representative is responsible for assisting the Customer Care Coordinator and Facility Supervisor in overseeing the operations of the David Braley Athletic Centre and providing frontline customer service to members, community groups, sports teams, faculty groups and more.

Job Details


Fall/Winter - August 26th 2024 – April 30th 2025

Scheduled Hours:

6-20 hours/week



  • Assisting in the day-to-day operations of the recreational complex
  • Opening/Closing the indoor/outdoor facilties
  • Providing members with superb customer service and engagement
  • Carrying out facility set-ups and laundry services
  • Conducting facility security checks on a regular basis
  • Building maintenance: minor cleaning, painting, and organization of storage and activity spaces

 Working to provide a safe, enjoyable and efficiently operated venue for our student, faculty, staff and community membership is of the utmost importance.

  • Standard First Aid CPR Level C (prior to start)
  • McMaster University Health & Safety and AED training – provided
  • Dependable, punctual, and hard-working
  • Ability to work flexible shifts: including mornings, afternoons, evenings, and weekends
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Attend mandatory staff trainings and monthly staff meetings
  • Approval for McMaster Work Program is an asset
  • Computer literate (experience with Fusion is an asset)
  • JBSD staff must be outgoing, friendly, energetic, intelligent, and have the desire to learn
