McMaster Department of Athletics & Recreation Camps: March Break & Summer
Lost & Found
Going to camp, school, or even just out the door - add children to the mix and things seem to go missing quickly. While this pattern is a fact of life at most camps, we do our best to reconnect you with your lost items.
I lost something - how do I get it back?
- Each camp operates its own Lost & Found. Ask any camp staff member for help, or send a note with your camper as a reminder to look for the missing item
- Our Joan Buddle Service Desk, just inside the main entrance to the David Braley Athletic Centre, also operates a department-wide Lost & Found. Contact the desk at 905-525-9140 x24612 for help.
Stay out of the Lost & Found altogether: Label it!
With hundreds of children at camp, far too often we find ourselves in a lost-and-never-claimed situation, and the items we collect never make it back to their original owners (though they still go to good use).
Enter Mabel's Labels, a local Hamilton company and North America’s leading provider of personalized labels for the stuff kids lose! Their super-durable sticky and clothing labels make identifying and sorting camp gear a breeze.
Keep your stuff, and send a child in need to camp!
Even better, if you identify yourself as a McMaster Athletics & Recreation camper when ordering from Mabel's, they'll share some of the proceeds with us, which we proudly redirect to our Camper Scholarship program. Order as a McMaster camper now!
What happens to items that are never claimed?
After giving everyone a chance to stake their claim, we gather all of the unclaimed Lost & Found items and donate them to local Hamilton organizations in support of the less privileged in our community. We typically make our donation delivery a few weeks post-camp season in mid-September.
