Clinic Reopening

The David Braley Sport Medicine & Rehabilitation Centre at McMaster University is reopening for in-person services Monday, July 13th.

July 8, 2020

We are pleased to announce the re-opening of the David Braley Sport Medicine & Rehabilitation Centre, now that the province has allowed these types of clinics to open. Our centre will re-open with all new health and safety measures in place as of Monday, July 13, 2020. Appointments can be made by calling (905) 525-9140 ext. 23575.

Our staff and practitioners have been hard at work to make our clinic a safe place for patients to receive the services they need. We’ve implemented new procedures and policies to ensure the health and safety of those visiting our facility.

Even though we are re-opening, please note that our campus is only open to those with essential business on campus, so any of the normal services in other parts of the campus will not be available at this time.

To better prepare you for how things will look during your next visit, please note the following adjustments to our policies:

  • All clinic visits will be by appointment only
  • It is mandatory that you bring and wear a mask at all times for the duration of your visit. If you do not have a mask, one will be provided to you.
  • Pre-screening will be done when you schedule your appointment and when you arrive at the clinic. Upon arrival, you will be given a questionnaire
  • If your screen is positive, you will be asked to postpone your visit
  • All staff will be screened prior to each working day, and are required to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Some may be wearing face visors or googles
  • Patients will be asked to sanitize their hands when entering and exiting the David Braley Sport Medicine & Rehabilitation Centre
  • When you come, please minimize personal belongings. These must stay with you the entire time you are at the clinic
  • Please attend your appointment alone. One visitor will be allowed to accompany minors or those requiring the assistance of a support person. Exceptions may be made for those requiring childcare (please discuss when booking your appointment)
  • Clients are asked to arrive no more than 10 minutes prior to your scheduled appointment. If you arrive earlier, you will be asked to wait in your vehicle until we are able to accommodate you
  • Follow all signage posted in the DBAC building and in the clinic
  • Physical distancing of 2 metres (6 ft) must be maintained when possible
  • Come appropriately dressed for your appointment. For example, if you’re receiving care for a lower extremity injury, please wear shorts - if you’re receiving care for an upper extremity injury, please wear a short sleeve shirt
  • Our washroom and changing facilities are very limited
  • Upon screening, our front desk staff will direct you to a designated area for your visit
  • Patient care areas and frequently touched surfaces will be carefully sanitized between each patient’s visit with Health Canada approved products
  • To minimize crossover, we have adjusted our appointment schedules and the number of staff working at one time
  • When you’re finished with your visit, you may book your next appointment by phone
  • All payments must be cashless transactions at this time. No cash will be accepted
  • We ask that you practice hand hygiene again on your way out

We appreciate your patience and understanding while we’ve been working out the best plan to safely reopen. If you have any questions about appointments, care, services, or any of the COVID-19 related procedures in place, please don’t hesitate to contact us - all of our staff will be happy to answer your questions!

We look forward to helping you maintain your health and well-being.

Welcome back!
