Marauder Soccer: Mini Team Camps, Hosted by Men's & Women's Soccer

Take your club team to the next level with this first of it's kind training opportunity. Come experience a university level training camp run by coaches and players from one of the top schools in Canada. Our staff are extemely excited to share with your teams the process, attention to detail, and intentionality it takes to prep for an upcoming season or upcoming match! You'll get to experience what top university athletes go through in preparation for their seasons. Enjoy everything from on-field technical sessions, tactical sessions, small sided games, video review and analysis, classroom learning, soccer specific injury prevention, and of course live 11v11 gameplay against specifically matched competition with top level coaching. All of this will be done within the beautiful Ron Joyce Stadium, David Braley Athletic, and our one of a kind High Performance Area.

*2 day camps - Teams are welcome to apply for multiple camps. Apply with a minimum of 13 players from your club team - or put together a group of 12-18 same age players looking to develop to the next level. Applications are first-come, first-serve.

Skills & Set Pieces Camp

Skills & Set Pieces Camp

A spin on a more traditional style summer camp will have your team primed for success as your continue you seasons. Focus on more skillsets you may not have time for at training while learning from some of the best in the business. Learn through tactical analysis and video review the best time and place to execute your favourite moves and acquired skills. Become the most dangerous team on set pieces with some cool routines that will have the opposition spinning. Then of course test out these skills in live gameplay against great competition.

Offensive Camp

Offensive Camp

Take your teams attacking organization to the next level. This camp will demonstrate the importance of aligning intentions when you attack the opposition. Strategies on everything from buildup, to overloads in the middle third, to intentional arrivals in dangerous half spaces, and of course finishing will be brought out in this camp. You'll get to put these concepts to test in 11v11 competition.

Defensive Camp

Defensive Camp

Struggling to keep the ball out of your net? This two day camp will help both individuals and your team come together to become very difficult to score on. Take what your team is already learning and build on the structure that has been set in place. Timely tackles and clearances, the art of the double team, specific rules on rest defence, high-pressing tips and tricks are all at your fingertips. Add in film on how teams are defending at the top level and this is a camp you don't want to miss. 11v11 gameplay with coaching will tighten your team up for the season.

Transitions Camp

Transitions Camp

Don't let transitions in your game get lost while you focus on attacking and defending. Learn from some of the best how to think attack while you defend, and prepare to win the ball back as soon as you lose. Create a mentality swtich with specific goals and strategies to catch the opposition off guard when they least expect it. Counter pressing habits and strategies, transition slots and pockets for arrival, timing and communication on aligned principles, your team will be flying by the end of this camp.

Options available during registration include:

  • Extended Care from 7:30am-5:30pm each day
  • Busing from Ancaster, Burlington, Carlisle, Dundas, Hamilton Downtown, Hamilton Mountain, Oakville, Stoney Creek, Waterdown and Winona
  • Lunch served daily, delicious and nutritious!

The tentative schedule offered below outlines a typical day at camp:

A note on electronics: One of the goals of camp is to provide campers with unique experiences at McMaster. Electronic devices - games, phones, music players, etc. - while great for individual entertainment, do not readily encourage socialization at camp and often present challenges, especially when they go missing. We ask that all electronics be left at home for the duration of camp, and promise to provide an awesome experience to keep campers engaged throughout their session!

First Day Check-In

Athletes are to meet in the on Les Prince Field in the Ron Joyce Stadium.
Your team will be assigned a team room upon arrival for usage throughout the camp. Belongings are to be brought home at the end of each day.
