Marauder Basketball: Boys' Camps

Building on success of years past, and combining Canada Basketball's LTAD model with his passion for developing young players, Coach Tatham has set out to redesign and redefine the basketball camp experience at McMaster. With years of experience coaching elite programs, Patrick and his team recognize that for athletes to take the next step, they need to work with driven coaches whose tactics reflect the most current and research-supported skill development practices.

High Performance 8-Week Program: May & June 2020 - Dates & Times TBD

Camp Director and McMaster Men's Basketball Coach Patrick Tatham has extremely high expectations of himself, his coaches, and most importantly, the student-athletes that attend his spring program. Players that come with a genuine desire to improve will be pushed while also supported to achieve their goals.

The Marauder HP Difference

Low coach-player ratios are no longer a selling point - all well respected camps deliver on that promise. As you shift your focus to becoming the best, the total number of participating players becomes critical. Lower total numbers mean less lines, significantly less time spent waiting for baskets, and most importantly, more touches on the ball.

Our Marauder HP program offers a more personalized, demanding and high-calibre approach, aligned with Canada Basketball and applying Sport Canada's Long Term Athlete Development (LTAD) model. This 8-week training program is designed for individual develop, allowing every player to develop their skills. Training one night a week, players will be taught some focussed skills in each session. They will participate in an 1.5 hour intense practice, building on each previous session.

Homework at HP Basketball

Self-discipline is a huge component of athletic success. Athletes will be given drills and programs to use for their own self-training outside of our HP program.

A note on electronics: One of the goals of camp is to provide campers with unique experiences at McMaster. Electronic devices - games, phones, music players, etc. - while great for individual entertainment, do not readily encourage socialization at camp and often present challenges, especially when they go missing. We ask that all electronics be left at home for the duration of camp, and promise to provide an awesome experience to keep campers engaged throughout their session!

First Day Check-In

Athletes are to meet in the Burridge Gym of the Ivor Wynne Centre. Your athlete will be assigned to a counsellor group, where they are to meet every morning for attendnace and to prepare for the day.
