The McMaster Women's Hockey Team competes in the Golden Horseshoe Women's Hockey League (GHWHL) at the Senior AA level in the OWHA. Open tryouts occur in September of each year, followed by our season starting in early/mid-October. The team practices once each week, plays 1-2 games each week and will be competing in the Brock Jr Badgers Tournament in addition to the 2023-24 Provincials Champtionship in April. .

2023 Invovement

In the 2023/24 season, each Saturday morning, members of the McMaster Women's Hockey team help out and volunteer with BCBG's Skate the Dream, encouraging youth to learn to skate and play hockey. While Skate the Dream is the most frequent volunteering event, the team has assisted with the Canadian Blind Hockey Association and will additionally be participating in Motionball, Grindstone Aware Foundation and Relay for Life.

The McMaster Women’s Hockey team is a program with a long history of extensive community engagement, and the 2021/2022 season has been no exception. From raising over $1500 in the Hockey Fights Cancer initiative to Motionball, Relay for Life, Blood Battles and even volunteering at the recent NHL Heritage Classic and Team Canada Soccer Games, the women’s hockey program has demonstrated incredible involvement with the local Hamilton community as well as with the hockey and sports community.
